Stand-off_2On Friday, May 26th, the Indiana State Police were asked by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department to assist with the investigation that led to a stand-off involving a man armed with a gun who was threatening suicide.  The incident took place along a tree line on King Road north of 9A Road in Plymouth.  

The 90 minute stand-off between police and the man ended shortly before noon after officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Plymouth Police Department attempted to intervene with the despondent man.   Purportedly the armed man sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the ensuing struggle with police.  The individual was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  His current condition is unknown.

Detectives with the Indiana State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.  The investigation is ongoing and new information will be released as it becomes available.
