LaVille placed three players in double figures, but it wasn’t enough in a 62-41 loss to the Wildcats.  It was the semifinal round of the IHSAA Class 2A girls basketball sectional at Central Noble High School
Aryn Eash and Mallory Vernon paced LHS with 13 points each, while Lindsey Aschenbrenner  added 11 points.  Eash also dished out five assists.
The Lancers struggled early, trailing 11-0 before two free throws by Eash put LaVille on the board.  LaVille narrowed the gap to seven points on baskets by Eash and Vernon.  But each time LaVille would gain ground, Whitko’s Aly Reiff would convert key buckets.  Eash scored nine of points in the second quarter to help keep the Lancers within 37-27 at halftime.
Vernon would have a solid third stanza, scoring eight points as LHS found itself trailing 52-37.
Whitko’s Reiff proved to be a solid all-around player, leading all scorers with 31 points.
