Plymouth faced off against La Porte last night in a tough fought non-conference win at the Rock Pile 21-15. Keeping their undefeated record(14-0) came with a price. Losing leading scorer Emily Lafree to a knee injury early into the third. Plymouth stepped up the defense, and outscored La Porte 13-10 in the second half to hand the Slicers there 1st freshman loss of the season. Audie Plothow lead all scorers 7, including 4 clutch free throws down the stretch. Lafree put in 4, Erin Renneker 3, Mary Kate Flynn, Abby Lee, Sydni Weir with 2 each, and Olive Stanton with 1.
Strong bench play was contributed by Anna Bush, Elena Oechsner, and Anna Talaga.
Plymouth has a quick turn around with another tough NLC matchup vs. Wawasee at the Rock Wednesday. Early tip time is4:45pm.
