LJHS Students after ISSMA JME 1(ISSMA) Junior High, Middle School, and Elementary (JME) Festival Organizational Competition on Friday, March 17, 2017.

The LJHS seventh grade band was the first band of the day to perform. They played A Prehistoric Suite, by Paul Jennings; Too Beautiful for Words, by Rob Grice; and Black Forest Overture, by Michael Sweeney. William Kingston and Cameron Ewing were featured as soloists.

The LJHS eighth grade band performed Portrait of a Clown, by Frank Tichelli; Slane, an Irish folk song arranged by Douglas Wagner; and Locksley Hall, by Elliot Del Borgo.

Lincoln Jr. High School is proud to announce that both groups earned gold ratings. Event judges commented that each group gave well prepared performances.  Director Lisa Wallyn said, “I am proud of both of these bands. The seventh grade band does a fantastic job with tempo and style changes. The eighth grade band’s performances are very engaging and enjoyable to listen to.”

All of the bands, choirs, and orchestras at Lincoln and Riverside may be heard again at their next performance on April 22 at the LJHS Music Department Craft Show.
