MYRTLE BEACH, SC – After finishing a tough loss at 1 a.m on Sunday Ancilla’s was back on the field early Monday morning to face MCCAA foe Henry Ford and there was little to cheer about as the Chargers fell 9-1 to the Hawks.
Jade Doyle was the tough loser in his first start of the season going four innings striking out three and walking one, surrendering four earned runs. John Fuson had three strong innings of relief striking out three, walking none and scattering five hits.
Key errors plagued the Charger defense allowing four extra runs on the board while the bats went silent compounding the problem.
Justin Segers and Juan Silfa could manage the only Charger hits, Segers stroking an RBI double late in the game.
Now 0-2 the Chargers will be back in action Monday night against Penn State Mont Alto.
