GOSHEN – The Plymouth Pilgrims traveled to Maplecrest CC in Goshen Tuesday to take on the host Redhawks, and visiting Raiders from Northridge.  The Pilgrims handed the Raiders their first NLC round robin loss in over two seasons.

Hudson Yoder took home Medalist honors with a 37.  Early on, Hudson’s round didn’t appear to be headed in the right direction as he doubled his first hole of the evening.  He promptly birdied #2 and then closed with 7 consecutive pars.

Micah Calhoun had a solid ball striking night – the putts simply didn’t fall – he carded a 39.  Rounding out the scoring, John Gerard 42, Grant Clady 44.
The JV remained perfect in NLC play, now 5-0 and improved to 9-1 overall.  Bryce Carmichael continued his hot play carding a 42.  After an opening hole quadruple bogey (+4) Bryce settled in and only had two blemishes the rest of the way.  As a team, the JV’s 178 set a new season best.  Freshman Matthew Gerard contributed his best round of the season with a 46.

Both squads will travel Thursday to McCormick Creek in Nappanee where they look to keep the momentum moving vs Northwood and Wawasee.  Thursday concludes round-robin play.  Outcomes from Thursday’s matches determine tournament pairings for this Saturday’s NLC Tournament being contested at Pretty Lake Golf Club beginning at 10:00am.
