PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth girls golf team split a three-way match Thursday evening at Pretty Lake Golf Club defeating visiting Logansport and falling to LaPorte.

LaPorte’s Emily Wilmsen took home Medalist honors with a 44. The Slicers cut their way to two wins in large part to four scores in the 40’s.
Plymouth was led by Junior Brittney Klotz 53. Senior Jennah Nifong played well late carding a 54. The highlight of the night was the inspired and much-improved play of sophomore Sarah Youngs who shot a 61.

“Sarah’s ball striking was solid tonight as she fired a season best,” commented coach Ben Waymouth. “She was 10 shots off her previous low mark.”
Senior Emily Cochern rounded out the scoring with a 59.
Noteworthy as well was the continued improvement of both Freshmen Olivia Horvath with a 66 and Grace Cooper who shot 79. Tonight marked their second high school match and both improved 4 shots from their previous score.
Next up for the ladies is a trip to Kokomo where they take on several state ranked foes in the Western Invitational at Chippendale Golf Club.
