IMG_1937 (1)The Plymouth girls golf team started their season Monday at the challenging Coyote Crossing golf course in West Lafayette finishing 8th – 468 – in the Harrison Invitational.

This year’s squad looks to fill the top four lineup positions from last season.  The girls held their composure quite well playing alongside eventually winner #12 Lafayette Jeff.

In the 10 team field, Junior Brittney Klotz led Plymouth with a steady 51 on both sides for a season and career best 102!  Playing in the #1 spot today was a big step forward for Brittney as last season she floated between Varsity and JV.
Senior Jennah Nifong putt well today leading our team with 36 putts.  She finished with an 118.  Jennah looks to get back to her solid ball striking self.  She spent a majority of last season recovering from ACL surgery.  Fellow Senior Emily Cochern got hot late in the round as she made par on her final two holes.  Emily carded a 121 and led the team with 3 greens in regulation all coming late in the round.
Sophomores Olivia Waymouth 126 and Sarah Youngs 129 both played in their first Varsity action – both carding career best 18 hole rounds!  Both have done solid prep coming into the season and stand to improve leaps and bounds.
The girls are next in action Wednesday in their home invitational at Pretty Lake Golf Club beginning at 4:15pm.
