phs_gymnastics_2017pairs-tourneyPlymouth High School hosted the Plymouth Invitational Gymnastics Meet on Saturday, January 14th.   Ten teams attended the competition and the Pilgrims earned a 6th place finish.

Plymouth gymnasts improved their scores tremendously according to Jana Lyon.    Junior Bailey Eveland earned season high scores on all of her events, but most notably increased her Bars Score by 3 whole points.  Senior Natasha Craft increased her season best Balance Beam score by .6 and had a no-fall beam routine. Freshman Kyla Heckaman raised her Floor score by 1.25 and performed a new skill for the first time in competition (a full twisting layout).  Sophomore Madison Smith earned a season high on Floor while Sophomore Julia Marohn increased her scores so much that her All-Around score was 4 whole points higher than any other meet this season.

Senior Natasha Craft: Beam 6.7

Junior Bailey Eveland: Vault 8.6, Bars 6.3, Beam 7.35, Floor 8.55, AA 30.8.

Sophomore Julia Marohn: Vault 7.7, Bars 6.85, Beam 6.75, Floor 8.25, AA 29.55.

Sophomore Madison Smith: Vault 8.0, Bars 4.35, Floor 8.4.

Freshman Kyla Heckaman: Vault 8.3, Bars 7.9. Beam 8.05, Floor 8.95, AA 33.2.

 

Plymouth gymnasts travel to Warsaw next weekend for their next meet.
