Last night (1/25), the 8th grade basketball “A” team played an energized against Argos team and came out with a 26-14 win in the non-conference matchup.  Tough defense and 3 timely three point shots led to a challenging victory.  Leading the way tonight, top scorers were Lindsay Janus and Miranda German with 8 points each for the Red Storm team.  Olivia Horvath, Ella Hissong, Madison Stiles, Mackenzie Dejarnatt, and Tallulah Gault also got into the scoring column.   Top rebounder was Horvath with four rebounds off the glass.  Excelling on the defensive end were Janus and Horvath with 2 steals apiece while German, Gault and Stiles each added a steal. The win brings their record to 3-0.  The girls will return to action on Monday 1/30 in their home opener against Rochester at 6:00pm.

 

The 7th grade girls basketball team suffered their first loss if the season to a tough Argos team Wednesday night 20-25. Hannah Friberg had a big first quarter with 6 points to be top scorer. Clare Sheedy added 5 points and Sara Hunter, Lauren Rumpler, Lexi Rose, Leah Tanner and Sydney Rice all got on the board. Lexi Rose drained a shot at the last second but released it just a fraction of a second too late for it to count.
Argos had a large team and requested to play a 1 quarter, running clock matchup against our girls. Keiara Himes, Sydney Rice, Olivia Newcomb, Kami Burkett and Summer South brought out their best on offense and defense to shut out the Dragons B team 15-0.
The girls look to take on the Lady Zebras from Rochester on Monday evening.
