The 8th grade girls basketball “A” team played against their non-conference opponent Laville on the road.  The Red Storm controlled the game with patience on offense and a strong defensive effort leading to a 40-9 victory.  Tallulah Gault had 8 points, Lindsay Janus and Olivia Horvath added 7 points apiece while Miranda German and Kaleigh Kephart chipped in 6 each.  Emma Cook and Makenzie Dejarnatt also got into the scoring column to round out the scoring.  Dejarnatt, German, Janus and Madison Stiles delivered some awesome assists during the game.  Cook, Janus, Dejarnatt, German, Horvath, Gault and Stiles created turnovers on the defensive end for Laville with tenacious pressure.  The win improves their record to 7-0.  The girls return to action Saturday (2/11) at the Ben Franklin tournament with their first game starting at 10:15 am (CST) against Rensselaer.

 

The 7th grade A team brought home a 33-8 road win Thursday night at LaVille. Sydney Rice had a big first half scoring 8 of her 9 points early on. Hannah Friberg had much the same with all of her 7 points in the first half. Summer South was another big scorer, finishing strong with all of her 8 points in the fourth quarter. Clare Sheedy, Keiara Himes, Lauren Rumpler, and Olivia Newcomb all tallied a few points in the win. The girls head back to Valpo for a tournament at Ben Franklin Middle School on Saturday.
