The 8th Grade Lincoln Red Storm football team opened up their season at Logansport on Saturday.  The Red Storm came out of the gates hard and fast with a touchdown by Zach Masterson and the extra point by Devante Garcia.  The defense held the Berries scoreless in the first quarter.  The second quarter, the offense owned most of the clock but went scoreless.  With minutes left in the second quarter, the Berries scored and converted for extra points.  The Red Storm went into half time with a tied score 8 – 8.  The third quarter brought out the fight in both teams and each team went scoreless.  The 4th quarter showed the resolve in the Red Storm and with minutes left to play, Peyton Daley got the handoff to run it in for the touchdown.  Nate Derifield ran the extra point in to bring the Red Storm ahead 14 – 8.   Lennon Creighbaum came up with a big fumble recovery after the kickoff to seal the Berries fate.  Lincoln returns to the field Tuesday at Lakeview.

Lincoln’s 7th grade football season kicked off on Saturday down in Logansport. After a slow start, the Red Storm offense finally got on the board just before the half on a long TD run from Easton Strain. Lincoln led 6-0 at the half. After some adjustments, the offensive line, came out firing in the second half, as the Red Storm moved the ball up and down the field for two more Strain TD runs. The Lincoln defense was strong all day only giving up a single touchdown in the closing seconds.
