Marshall County EDC Director Jerry Chavez announced During the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meeting Tuesday event that the Rees Theater Renovation Project received a Regional Cities grant.
The grant is in the amount of $300,000, but cannot exceed 20% of the overall project cost. Funding from private donations and in-kind contributions as well as local public funds will be used to match the Regional Cities grant.
The Rees Theater project committee is currently raising funds for pressing repairs including roofing, masonry, roof access, and structural work totaling $120,000. Due to timing issues, the Regional Cities grant cannot be used for these urgent needs.
