This week, Gov. Eric Holcomb gave his first State of the State address.

The annual address gives the governor the opportunity to lay out his goals and priorities for the coming year. It also serves as a way for a newly-elected governor to introduce himself to the Indiana General Assembly and the state as a whole.

Gov. Holcomb expanded on his plans to bring high-paying jobs to the state, find a long-term road funding solution, develop a 21st century skilled-and-ready workforce, and attack the drug epidemic.

I wish Gov. Holcomb all the best as he begins his first term as our state’s leader, and I look forward to working with him to address these and other issues in the days ahead.
