Severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening with damaging winds being the main threat. Gusts could be between 50-60 mph or stronger. Gusts this strong can bring down trees or large branches and cause power outages and damage to property. Short-lived tornadoes and hail up to one inch in diameter are also possible.
The storms will move from west to east at approximately 50 mph and are likely to occur in our area between 4p(EST) and 8p(EST) this afternoon and evening.
