Ummel Award 2017PLYMOUTH – The North Central Soccer Association (NCSA) awarded the seventh annual T. Edward Ummel, Young Referee of the Year Award after the completion of the spring season.

Ummel was a long-time referee trainer for the NCSA, as well as treasurer, coach and board member of Argos Youth Soccer. He earned a reputation for excellent instruction and mentoring of youth soccer officials. This award remembers his standard of excellence with the selection of a young referee who has shown skill in officiating as well as quality in character.

Samantha Stone, daughter of Amee and Andrew Stone of Argos, was the 2017 winner of a plaque and cash prize. She has been a referee for two years, working for the NCSA, as well as travel leagues and tourneys. She has played travel and recreational soccer since age six. She is a member of the Argos High School varsity soccer team, and played for Argos FC this spring.
