Bourbon policeA traffic stop Sunday morning about 2:30 on South Main Street at 13th Trail in Bourbon landed three people in the Marshall County Jail.

Bourbon Police Officer Adam Kraning stopped Jared Whitfield for a traffic violation and a vehicle violation. While speaking with Mr. Whitfield the officer could smell an order of alcohol coming from the vehicle and Mr. Whitfield.  After field sobriety tests and a portable breathalyzer Whitfield was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $500 cash bond for Minor Consuming, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The front seat passenger in the vehicle, Shawnee Smalley was given a PBA and found to have alcohol in her system as well. Ms. Smalley was arrested and charged with Minor Consuming, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia and held on a $500 cash bond.

While speaking with the rear seat passenger, Jacob McVey, Officer Kraning could smell the odor of marijuana. Drug paraphernalia was found on Mr. McVey and within the vehicle along with raw marijuana in the vehicle. McVey was held in the Marshall County Jail on a $500 cash bond for Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

All three are scheduled to appear in Marshall Superior Court II on December 12th.
