MayflowerA Plymouth man was arrested Tuesday evening after city officers were dispatched to the Mayflower Bar on West Jefferson Street for a subject cutting a padlock off the basement access on the side of the business.

When Officer Jeremy Enyart arrived on the scene he found 43 year old Adan Vargas in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in front of the business.

During an investigation it was discovered that Vargas was on home detention through Starke County.  He also had an active warrant for his arrest through LaPorte County.

Mr. Vargas was booked into the Marshall County Jail for Residential Entry and held on a $3,000 cash bond.  He is also being held for the warrant through LaPorte County.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
