“This is an important step toward modernizing and strengthening NAFTA so it better meets the needs of our nation’s manufacturers, farmers, businesses, and workers. The Trump administration is right that strong economic relations with Canada and Mexico have been good for our economy but that an update to NAFTA is long overdue. I look forward to working with the administration to open new markets for American products, create good jobs for American workers, and keep American businesses competitive in the global economy.”
