Webster Elementary School fundraising effort this year won the Warriors the right to display the Marshall County Junior Achievement traveling bowling pin trophy at Webster until next year!
The Webster Warriors raised over $1200 and came in first place for donations collected out of all of the teams that participated in this year’s annual Junior Achievement Achieve-A-Bowl fundraiser event.
Webster staff and students received the news and the trophy at Tuesday night’s annual Junior Achievement Achieve-A-Bowl event that was held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Quick’s Lanes in Plymouth.
Webster raised funds by holding a Pajama and Slipper Day on Friday, March 24, 2017. Students were asked to help support this program by paying $1.00 to wear pajamas and an additional $1.00 to wear slippers. All students who paid $2.00 had their name put into a drawing to participate on the Webster student bowling team at tonight’s Achieve-A-Bowl. This year Webster students raised enough money to have two teams with five students per team.
The staff at Webster also raised money by allowing staff members to wear jeans for a week if they contributed. The staff raised enough money to have two staff teams of five members each.
The JA Achieve-A-Bowl is one of the JA’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Hundreds of participants from partner companies bowl each year to help JA provide financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial programs to local students. The Achieve-A-Bowl is a great team-building event that helps employees support local educational efforts and make a lasting impact on their community. Proceeds go directly to programs for youth in Marshall County.
Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization funded by the local business community, foundations, individuals and special events. Junior Achievement provides in-school economic education for over 2,200 students in Marshall County. Local business community leaders and parents donate their time working in partnership with educators to bring the JA programs into our Webster classrooms. Our school has had JA in the all classrooms for several years.
