‘Beauty of the Earth’ Photography at the Gallery

April 2, 2018

Heartland-Gallery-logoThe focus of Cindy Jackson’s subjects has been nature, unique architecture and the historical genre. Cindy has been capturing photographic images and is inspired by the simplicity of the smallest creation and the handiwork of God. She started taking photographs, mostly of family, in 1962 at the age of 8.

Cindy tends to just look at things differently. She will see something that catches her eye and then will take several shots of it from different angles. That is the advantage of digital over film, the ability to take multiple shots and not be constrained by the cost of developing those images. Her preference is photographing close-ups of items and nature in general.

Photos taken before 2010 were just taken for my pleasure.  It was sometime in 2010 that a friend, who was looking at some of my vacation photos, suggested that people might be interested in purchasing them. That is when I started making enlargements, matting and framing them”.

Cindy is from Niles, Michigan and has two Associate’s degrees from Southwestern Michigan College as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University. She worked at Graham Photography in Niles for over 25 years. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Cross-Cultural

HeartlandArtist_APril2018_2Her work was featured in the 2011 Ira L. Clark Art for a Cause Art Show and Sale in Niles, MI. In 2012 she received an Honorable Mention award in the Ira L.
