Culver Town Republicans Elect Candidates for Town Seats on November Ballot

Culver Town Convention 2018_1Republicans in the Town of Culver participated in a Town Convention Monday evening in the Depot to select their candidates for the November General Election.   The convention was needed because of multiple candidates for the two seats on the Culver Town Board.

There were four candidates running for the two open positions on the Culver Town Board; incumbents David Beggs and Sally Ricciardi and challengers Bill Cleavenger and Bill Githen.

Culver Town Convention 2018_2David Holmes, County Chairman served as chairman of the town convention and had each candidate speak for up to five minutes.  Candidate David Beggs did not attend the convention but the other three candidates each spoke to the nearly capacity room.

Forty-four citizens cast their ballots for their two favorite candidates.

The winner of the Republican convention were Bill Githens with 34 votes and Bill Cleavenger with 29 votes.  Sally Ricciardi received 18 votes and David Begg only received 2 votes.  Githens and Cleavenger will face Democrat Richard (Rich) West in the November General Election.
