Librarian Barbara Roach from the Plymouth Public Library visited Miller’s Assisted Living on Tuesday afternoon with a program she has named “Bringing The Library to You”. Most people think of books, magazines and newspapers when they think of the public library. However, the Plymouth Public Library has so much more to offer its patrons.
They have movie DVD’s and music CD’s available as well as two computer labs, audio books, lessons on how to use electronic devises, genealogy helps and art classes; not to mention tons of children’s programming.
One of the greatest assets for the senior population is the Plymouth Public Library’s “Homebound Program”. The library welcomes phone calls from the elderly or anyone who finds themselves unable to leave their home and will gladly fill the order and DELIVER the requested items.
Barb reminded the residents that every Tuesday is New Best Seller Day and every Thursday is New Movie day.
At the end of her program Barb took time to renew library cards and to also set up new patrons with cards.
