City Leaf Pick-Up Underway

October 17, 2018

leaf sweepingPlymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt said the city’s leaf pick-up program is underway.

City residents are encouraged to rake their leaves to the curb in front of their homes and businesses because the leaf machine does not go down the alleys or into manufactured housing parks.  Leaves should be clear of all trash and or twigs.

Leaves should only be raked to the curb and not placed in the street because the leaves have a tendency to float down the street during the rain and then plug the storm water drains.

Employees from the City Street Department will canvas the city’s five sections each week.  Leaf pick-up will continue weekly until November 20th

The City of Plymouth DOES NOT offer leaf pick-up in the spring so residents are encouraged to get their leaves raked out early.  If you have leaves for pick-up after the November 20th they must be bagged and put at the curb for pick-up yet this fall and in the spring.
