Hull Arrested after Slid-Off Accident on US 6

An early morning slid-off accident on US 6 west of Michigan Road Sunday landed a Walkerton man in the Marshall County Jail. 

Just before 4 in the morningMarshall County Officer Wozniak came upon a slide off accident on US 6The officer witnessed the driver, 38 year old Jacob W. Hull exiting the driver door and attempting to walk up a steep embankment. 

While making contact with Mr. Hull, Officer Wozniak detected the presence of alcohol from his breath.  Hull failed a field sobriety tests and refused a certified test.

Jacob Hull was taken to the Plymouth Hospital, where a search warrant affidavit was completed and signed by a judge.  Jacob was found to be over two times the legal limit of alcohol. 

He was taken to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more and Operating a vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.   

The vehicle sustained over $1,000 of damage to the front end of the vehicle after it was removed from the ditch.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
