Flood Recovery Center Reduces Hours, Informational Meeting Thursday 6 p.m. for Flood Victims

Flood RecoveryThe Flood Recovery Center (FRC), located at 121 West Garro Street in Plymouth is adjusting hours due to low visitor rates and decreased need for extended hours. Beginning this week, March 12th, the Flood Recovery Center will be open Wednesday thru Friday, 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays 10am to 2pm. Clean-up

kits, hygiene kits, blankets, and flood cleanup information pamphlets are available for pickup at the Flood Resource Center. Community donated snacks and limited food and water are also available for affected residents.

Beginning Tuesday, March 13th, members of the Flood Response Management Team will be calling all affected property owners that reported damage via 2-1-1, the County Emergency

Management Office, the Flood Resource Center, or that were visited by relief organizations such as the Southern Baptists. The purpose of this call will be to gather updated information relative to the property owner’s current situation and welfare, along with collecting data on unmet needs for the Long Term Recovery Committee (LTRC). This information will help the Long Term Recovery Committee as it continues to develop and provide services in the coming weeks and months.

NOTE: property owners will not be asked to provide sensitive information over the phone, like social security, credit card, or driver’s license numbers. If you receive a call and are asked to provide sensitive information, gather the caller’s information, hang-up, and report the call to the police.

The City of Plymouth and Marshall County Flood Response Management Team is hosting an informational session for those affected by the flood throughout the County. Organizations and Agencies active in the response and recovery will provide updates and pertinent information. A short question and answer session will conclude the event. Seating is limited and intended for affected property owners throughout Marshall County. This meeting will be streamed live on Facebook, as long as technology cooperates, and will be recorded and posted to social media channels. The meeting will take place on Thursday, March 15th, at 6pm in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room (203) at the Marshall County Building in Plymouth.

In an effort to communicate more efficiently with flood Survivors and Volunteers, the Long Term Recovery Committee is using the MailChimp service for mass emailing. An online form allows

Survivors and Volunteers to select their specific areas of interest, and skills they can bring to the flood recovery. The Committee will then be able to target communications via email. Visit this
