801 SycamoreMembers of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety affirmed an order to take action on the 801 Sycamore Street property.

City Building Commission Keith Hammonds said he mailed orders to two different address and they were both returned undelivered.  The city then advertised in the paper their plans to demolish the structure.

Hammonds said he was contacted Monday by Parker Osborn, a contractor who was contacted by the owner to demolish the home.  He asked for information on obtaining a demo permit and said he could have the job completed within 30 days.

Although Hammonds would rather the contractor do the job, he asked the Board of Works and Safety to affirm the order incase the owner thinks the cost is too high and the demo doesn’t happen.

Members of the Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously affirmed the order.

Following the meeting the owner, Charles Salach stopped by the meeting and spoke with the city attorney and building inspector on the issue.
