City Meetings Monday, Council Considers Voluntary Annexation of 2 Properties

City NEwsThe City of Plymouth will conduct their regular meetings in the conference room of the Plymouth Fire Department Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m.

The Board of Public Works and Safety has a number of items on the agenda including reports from various city department heads, a change order for the Spring 2017 Street & Sidewalk program and one for the Fall 2017 Street & Sidewalk program.  City Engineer Rick Gaul will also present a public works request by Comcast to work in the city’s right-or-way at CVS 1900 North Michigan Street.

Under request, Dulce Ordonez will present a water usage explanation and request for a payment plan while Laura Mann, Promotion of the City Director will ask for a street closing for the annual holiday parade and tree lighting.  The final request comes from Tim Fulnecky from the Women’s Care Center, he will seek a temporary closure of the alley.

Also on the Board of Public Works meeting agenda is an agreement for Wildman Services and the approval of claims.

The Common Council meeting at 6:30 will conduct two public hearing for tax abatement and one public hearing for annexation.  Bomarko, Inc in Plymouth is vying for an expansion project that will include new machinery and a building addition at the cost of $5 million.  The second tax abatement is for Marshall County Life Center on the Early Learning Childhood Center that is a portion of the Aquatic Center Project.

The voluntary annexation public hearing is for Matthew and Peter Ritenour at 598 Hoham Drive, the first home on the north side of Hoham Drive past the railroad tracks while the second request is approximately 44 acres of property owned by Carl and Tanya Stockberger on the north side of Plymouth/Goshen Trail across from Centennial Park.

Both city meetings are open to the public although comments and questions are limited to agenda items only.  If attending the meetings, please use the south doors.
