Tuesday night, March 20th Marshall County Police Officer Ryan Hollopeter investigated a single vehicle crash that caused serious injury to a passenger in the vehicle.
About 11:30 Officer Hollopeter was dispatched to State Road 106 and Plymouth Goshen Trail. He found a 2010 white Kia Soul that had run off the roadway and rolled over.
The driver, Alexandria S. Burns told the officer she swerved to miss a deer that ran out into the roadway. Burns explained that when she swerved to miss the deer, her vehicle ran off the roadway and rolled over.
A passenger in the vehicle, Melvin R. Taylor of Medaryville complained of pain to the collar bone. He was transported to Community Hospital of Bremen for treatment of a broken collar bone.
Burns did not complain of any injuries. She was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury (Level-6 Felony).
