Parade of LlightsThe City of Plymouth will host the annual “Parade of Lights” leading up to the lighting of Plymouth’s Christmas tree on Saturday, November 24th and this year’s theme is “The Music of the Holidays.”

Currently the committee is seeking local businesses, clubs, organizations, and individuals to participate in the parade.

These lighted vehicles and floats are put together by people right here in our community.  There are a number of rules to participate in the parade but just about anyone can throw some Christmas lights on and participate.

  • Floats shall be free standing, three dimensional, lighted displays
  • Floats shall be no more than 10 feet in height (from the ground) and 16 feet in length
  • Floats should be built on trailers/frames
  • Floats must be lighted, generators or other power source on the floats will be required.  We also suggest the use of a battery from an 18 wheel truck or tractor with an ac/dc inverter.  These will last up to 4 hours and make no noise.
  • All construction materials should be fire and weather (moisture, wind, etc.) resistant
  • All entries should be properly identified with signs or banners with the sponsor’s name so that spectators know who you are.
  • Drivers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and will be checked prior to the parade.
  • Due to the fact the parade is scheduled at night, entries are NOT permitted to throw items (i.e. candy, etc) from the parade unit.  You may have walkers handing out items to spectators.
  • No entry will be admitted into the parade that has not been pre-registered. Entries will not be accepted or considered after November 21st, 2018
  • Walking units should have battery-pack lights on their person or costume
  • No Santa Clauses!  Santa will ride on a fire truck at the end of the parade.
  • If you have met the above criteria, and you would like to be partof the 2018 parade, please fill out the entry form and send them to us by November 21st, 2018.  You may mail them to Parade of Lights, City of Plymouth, 124 N.
