John J. Oliver, President of U.S. Granules Corporation in Plymouth has officially endorsed one of the candidates running on the Republican ballot in the May Primary.
In his letter of support dated April19th, Oliver says:
“I have known Dave (Hostetler) as a friend and colleague for many years. During the early years of my company he engineered some of our proprietary technologies we continue to employ. He then branched out to develop technologies for clean steel production. He has traveled the world furthering “latest technologies” for steel making. Today Dave is recognized as a true leader in his business sector.”
Mr. Oliver’s letter of support continues, “I’m especially delighted that Dave has now decided to offer his unquestioned leadership, management and administrative abilities, honed over a lifetime of business success, to Marshall County citizens. As a County Commissioners he will be a tireless advocate of innovative, effective and efficient government services. I respectfully urge your support for his candidacy.”
Dave Hostetler will face incumbent County Commissioner Kurt Garner and challenger Stan Klotz in the May 8th Republican Primary for Marshall County.
David Hostetler is a life-long resident of Marshall County who understands what it takes to succeed on a global scale. He is an entrepreneur, community leader, and family man with numerous ties to the community.
In partnership with his brother, David started his own business that boasted national contracts with steel mills throughout the United States. Eventually he sold the business, and continued on with the company as general manager, a job that has taken him around the world. He has successfully directed the design and assembly of steel desulfurization plants in Japan, China, Slovakia, France, Canada and the United States.
David is a graduate of John Glenn High School, attained a Certificate in Supervisor Development from Notre Dame, and was an elected member of the School Board of the John Glenn School Corporation for eight years. He also served as an elected member of the Polk Township Advisory Board for four years.
He and his wife served as foster parents for six years. They are ardent supporters of the Marshall County 4-H Fair. David is a steward of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, and a member of the Church’s Board of Trustees.
David’s family ties are numerous. He is one of 10 children, and most of his siblings and their families live and work in Marshall County. He and his wife of 43 years, Betty, have one daughter, Kay Hagen who is married to Adam Hagen, and one granddaughter, Anna Hagen.
