Miller's_Eagle Scout ribbon cutting june 9 2018 eyesSeventeen year old Christopher Fishburn of Argos accomplished something this past week that statistics show only one out of every 100 Boy Scouts ever achieve.  He received the coveted Eagle Scout Award last Wednesday evening, June 6th.

Christopher chose as his Eagle Scout Project to build a ¼ mile walking path through the wooded area at Miller’s Assisted Living in Plymouth.  He not only designed the path, he also found benefactors who helped supply the material he needed and he did the work himself with the help of fellow scouts and family and community members.   The path is packed smoothly with gravel, there are benches along the path to sit and rest and enjoy the wildlife.  He also included birdhouses and a sign which shows all of the contributor’s names.  Christopher enlisted the help of Mike Wolfington of Plymouth to build the bridge from the parking lot into the wooded area.

On Saturday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. Christopher was joined by many of his family and friends, the staff and residents of Miller’s Assisted Living, and Plymouth Mayor, Mark Senter for a  dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the official opening of the Walking Path.  Those taking part in the Dedication and ribbon cutting included:  Boy Scout Esaias Lemler;  Plymouth Mayor and Eagle Scout, Mark Senter;  Scout Leader and Eagle Scout, Dr. Tom Pedavoli; Eagle Scout Christopher Fishburn; Miller’s Regional Manager and Eagle Scout, Al Grossnickle; Resident and Great Aunt, Mary Fishburn; Miller’s Marketing Director, Anna Corbett;  Miller’s Campus Administrator, Bryan Zehr;  parents, Marie and John Fishburn; MMM Admissions Director, Gwen Calvert; and niece,  Braelynn Fishburn.

Anna Corbett would like to remind the community that the walking path is for everyone’s enjoyment.  The public is invited to visit and take a walk.
