Recycle Depot_Logo11-10-17Come to the Marshall County Fair this Friday night for tips on thrifty clothes shopping and building a capsule wardrobe.

The Purdue Extension Homemakers Club is hosting their annual Consumer Clothing Thrifty Fashion Show Friday night, July 20, in the Open Class building at the Marshall County fairgrounds. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to anyone who would like to compete in one of four categories: Best of Show, Best Buy, Best Casual, and Best Dressy. Those wanting to participate should come around 6 p.m. that night to register or contact the Marshall County Extension office at 574-935-8545 for advance registration.

Along with the fashion show, employees from the Black Cat Clothing Co. consignment and vintage shop will be showcasing some of their clothing inventory. Marianne Peters, director of the Marshall County Recycle Depot, will also be speaking on building a capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is a way to build a functional, fashionable wardrobe that is more durable and environmentally sustainable than today’s “fast fashion” merchandise.

Attend the show Friday night for some fashion inspiration that’s easy on the wallet.
