This is the most recent flood information from Marshall County Emergency Management.
A determination has been made by the County Commissioners to terminate the “Warning” level travel advisory that was implemented yesterday morning for the entire county. A “Watch” level travel advisory has been put in place. The City of Plymouth has also implemented and Executive Order for a “Watch” level travel advisory.
A number of families have been displaced by the flood waters, but no requests have been made to activate the Emergency Operations Center and Emergency Support Functions.
The Marshall County Building and Courthouses are open today.
Plymouth schools are cancelled for today. Other school districts are currently on a two hour delay.
The Flood Warning for the Yellow River has been extended until Tuesday afternoon, February 27. The river is currently at 17.5 ft. and rising. Crest is still forecast for 18 ft. by this afternoon.
Transitioning from Response to Recovery:
Several homes and businesses have been impacted by flood water. Preliminary damage assessments will need to be conducted in order to gather that information for possible assistance.
Several county roads, drainage, water/waste water treatment facilities, and other infrastructure sustained damage. We will need to conduct damage assessments to gather that information as well for possible assistance.
EMA Director Clyde Avery is asking everyone who has experienced damage with this flooding to please keep track of costs associated with flood response, including: labor costs, equipment use, materials, emergency protective measures, etc.
