Blood DriveMary Ankrapp, Supervisor of Blood Donor Recruitment for the South Bend Medical Foundation commended Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter on the blood drive he sponsored this past Saturday.

Ankrapp said, “Your drive was AWESOME!  We would like to thank the Mayor and his assistant for taking the time to make a difference in so many lives.”

Ankrapp said there is a constant need of blood donations and blood drives like this one helps us maintain a safe supply of blood for those in need.

Results of Saturday’s blood drive were a total of 39 units collected and 5 deferrals.

One unit of blood can save the lives of up to 3 people; so the mayor’s blood drive had the potential to saved a total of  117 people.  The blood collected will go to help recipients suffering from cancer, trauma, blood disorders, surgery, pregnancy complications, or several other medical emergencies.
