Heminger House Logo 2018On June 29, 2018 The Heminger House, the only emergency domestic violence shelter for Marshall, Starke, and Fulton Counties was forced to shut its doors due to funding restraints. Over the next few weeks, Executive Director Diane Fisher, House Manager Nicole Hicks, and the rest of the staff worked tirelessly to not only get state and federal funding reinstated but continue to help the victims of domestic violence as much as possible by taking phone calls and offering referrals.

The Heminger House is pleased to announce that on July 18, 2018 at 8 AM they will be reopening their doors for those who are in a violent situation that need emergency housing.

The Heminger House would like to thank all the individuals, businesses, government organizations, churches, schools, and more that donated not only during our temporary shutdown but those who did before and will continue to into the future.

The Heminger House also is excited to announce their upcoming Unmasking Domestic Violence Masquerade Gala on July 28, 2018 at Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth. This fundraising gala will include a dinner, dancing, entertainment, a silent auction, and more. Tickets at $40 each and can be purchased by calling the Heminger House.
