Fatal_US31&11thRoad 8-27-18_1This morning, Monday, August 27th around 9:30 a.m., Indiana State Police investigated a fatal crash between a pickup and a semi that occurred in the northbound driving lane of US 31 just north of 11th Road.

Preliminary investigation by Senior Trooper Ben Ennis shows that a white 1995 Kenworth driven by Randall Grabowski, age 49 of Bremen, had been travelling westbound on 11th Road prior to turning northbound onto US 31.  As the Kenworth got up to speed in the right northbound lane of US 31, a black 2016 Ford F150 being driven northbound by Mitchell Warner, age 31 of Cloverdale, IN, collided with the rear of the trailer being towed by the Kenworth.  This collision occurred approximately 500 feet north of 11th Road.  The collision caused the Ford to become fused to the rear of the trailer and both vehicles moved to the right shoulder following the collision.

Fatal_US31&11thRoad 8-27-18_2Warner was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner.  Warner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  Grabowski was not injured in the crash.

The right lane of US 31was shut down for investigation of this crash and for removal of the vehicles for approximately two hours.

Alcohol is not suspected in this crash.  This is an ongoing investigation.
