MugShot_Alfred WardOn Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at approximately 4:20 in the morning, Marshall County deputies responded to a possibly impaired driver, travelling north on US 31. Officer Nick Laffoon was able to stop the vehicle on US 31 and 9A Road.

 

After an investigation, it was discovered 26 year old Alfred Ward of Indianapolis had given false identifying information to the officer.  He was arrested for false informing, driving while suspended prior, and refusal to provide identifying information and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
