Warrant_servedOfficer John Weir with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Friday, November 16th about 7:45 in the morning at Hoham and Michigan Street.

The driver, 21 year old Brandon D. Mattix of Plymouth was driving a pickup truck and Officer Weir observed an infraction so he stopped the vehicle.  While running the driver’s license information through the BMV it was found that Mattix had an active warrant through Marshall County for fines and costs.

Mattix was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for Failure to Appear with a bond of $215.  He bonded out one hour later.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
