Untitled 2Plymouth High School and the Plymouth Band Boosters are excited to announce a national marching event will be held at Plymouth High School’s Rockpile stadium on Tuesday, July 31. Drum Corps International announced Plymouth High School as the host site for the new DCI Tour called, “Hoosier Heartland.”
Drum Corps International has been the leader in producing events for the world’s most elite and exclusive marching ensembles for student musicians and performers. The Drum Corps International was formed in 1971 to organize and unify leadership for youth-focused competitive drum corps events throughout North America.

PHS Band Director Bryan Ames said the upcoming event that will be held in Plymouth will host the drum and bugle corps teams who will be competing for the national championship the following week. He said performances will include groups from seven states and one group from the Netherlands. See the Hoosier Heartland schedule listed below.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our school and our band program to host so many well-known drum corps from around the country as they continue to compete for the world championships,” said Ames. “It is also amazing that we will be hosting Jubal Drum Corps traveling all the way from The Netherlands to compete at this event.”
Ames said two of the drum corps teams will be practicing at PHS on July 30 and all rehearsals are open to the public. More information for the upcoming event can be found on the DCI.org website. Tickets are available online or at the ticketbox on the day of the event.
