On Sunday afternoon, August 26, just before 4 pm Marshall County Sheriff`s Deputies responded to the Gatewood Mobile Home park located at 2403 Michigan Road north of Plymouth in reference to a report of a domestic battery that had occurred.
After investigating the report, Deputy Bragg arrested 26 year old Cody D. Collings of 12th Road in Plymouth. Collings was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Domestic Battery with a child less than 16 years of age present and Interference with Reporting a Crime. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond and given a September 18th date for his initial hearing in Marshall Superior Court II.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
