A twenty year old Plymouth man died in a motorcycle crash this weekend in LaPaz.
On Sunday, July 15th, around 1:00 a.m. officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, LaPaz Fire Department, and LaPaz EMS were called to the area of U.S. 6 east of Michigan Road.
A caller who had witnessed the accident advised that a motorcycle was travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed and had collided with a vehicle. When officers arrived on scene they checked on both drivers.
Officers had learned that Ricky Rassberry was driving in his 2003 Honda Civic heading eastbound toward U.S. 6.
Dustin Holderread was also heading eastbound on his 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed when he collided with the rear trunk of Ricky Rasberry`s Honda Civic.
It was determined that after colliding with the trunk, Holderread lost control of the motorcycle and was found unconscious by a passerby and emergency units.
Dustin was transported from the scene to South Bend Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced
deceased.
Ricky Rassberry`s condition is still unknown at this time.
