Monday evening the Plymouth Park Board met back in the Conservation Club House following the devastating flooding in February the severely damaged the lower level of the facility.
Board members handled several requests including the use of the lawn and sledding hill area on Tuesday evening, July 3rd by New Song Church. The church would like to host the 3rd annual Fourth of July Fireworks in the park that evening for the community. Their request was unanimously approved and noted by Park Board member Laura Mann that lots of people come to see their fireworks.
Relay of Life of Marshall County was granted two family pool passes, one for their upcoming paddle auction on Saturday, May 12th and one for the silent auction during the Relay on Saturday, June 15th.
The park board also approved the request of the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County for use of the public pool on Tuesday and Thursdays from June 5th until July 26th for an annual fee of $300. The club provide the park with a certificate of insurance and at least 4 staff members to assist during each visit.
The final request was by Marsha Ernsberger, local dancer who is interested in doing a 6 week workshop at the amphitheatre early this fall. Classes would meet on Tuesday evening and Saturday morning. The uniqueness of this program is that the dancing will be with dogs. She plans to work with a former Police K9 trainer and at the conclusion of the program a recital would be offered.
The park board was interested and asked her to present additional information on the program at a future meeting.
