Jack Jordan_St. Rep.2017Committees are vital to the legislative process, providing opportunities for members to review and evaluate proposals for new laws and hear public testimony.  House standing committee assignments for the 121st General Assembly were recently announced, and Representative Jack Jordan will be serving on the Ways and Means committee, Education committee and the Select Committee on Government Reduction.

These assignments are made biennially after each election. Committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov.  This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.

Lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber on January 3 for the first day of the legislative session.  For a complete list of House standing committee appointments, click here.
