drug_take_back_dayCitizens in Marshall County can help prevent prescription drug abuse by dropping off their unused medications.  The Indiana State Police Post in Bremen has teamed up with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) for the 16th nationwide collection event.

Prescription drug abuse is alarmingly high and many of the drugs used are from medications family members and friends have on hand.  The take-back event not only helps to reduce the safety hazards it also alleviates people throwing drugs in the trash or flushing them down the toilet.

Citizens can drop-off unused, expired or unwanted medications including pills and liquids at no cost and with no questions asked.  The event will not accept needles.

This Saturday’s Drug Take Back event will take place from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at the Indiana State Police Bremen Post – 1425 Miami Trail.  The Bremen Police Department will be collecting at the CVS Pharmacy 1150 West Plymouth Street.
