NewsThe Indiana State Library encourages young Hoosiers in grades 4-12 to enter a writing contest about how a book has affected them personally. The 2018-19 Letters About Literature contest is supported by the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.

Participants should write a letter to an author, living or deceased, explaining how his or her work changed their view of themselves or the view of the world. The contest is split up into three categories, and are judged on state and national levels.

The deadline to enter the contest is Jan. 11, 2019. The 2019 Indiana Youth Literary Day and Award Ceremony will be held April 13th at the Indiana State Library.
