Culver Little Town on Lake MaxinkuckeeThe Town of Culver is pleased to announce the five finalists for our street naming contest!  The five finalists are, in no particular order:

Vonnegut Lane—In honor of one of Culver’s most famous summer residents and families, author Kurt Vonnegut.

Cavalier Drive—Referencing the public-school mascot for Culver Community Schools, as this street will terminate near Culver Middle School.

Porter Drive—In honor of one of the town’s longest tenured employees, Utility Superintendent Bob Porter, who has consistently been dedicated to improving the community during his twenty plus years of service.

Maxinkuckee Lane—Recognizing the name of the second largest natural lake in Indiana.

Pokagon Trail—Recognizing the Native American heritage of the area, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians were based throughout southwest Michigan and northeastern Indiana, including Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee.

The rules are simple, one vote per person, and votes will be accepted in writing only by delivery to Town Hall at 200 E Washington Street, “Attention:  Street Contest Voting”, by email to townmanager@townofculver.org, or online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6WMK5HC.  Submissions will be accepted until Monday, May 7th, at noon.  The winning entry will be announced on May 8th at the town council meeting.
