Plymouth HIgh School building frontPlymouth Community School Corporation is committed to the safety and security of our students as well as our staff.

We received communication from an unidentified source, that a student had access to a weapon at school. The student reported to have access to a weapon, does not exist in our student body. Regardless, PHS will continue to work with local law enforcement to research the threat.

Please note, school is going on as usual and we are not on a lockdown. However, we understand that parents may choose to keep their child home or ask them to be released. Should that be the case, we ask parents to follow the normal protocol for reporting students’ absences from school.

The Plymouth Community School Corporation and PHS administration thanks everyone for their patience and cooperation.

UPDATE  11:43

This is an update to our previous email regarding a security concern at Plymouth High School. Through the cooperative efforts of our staff and law enforcement, the information we received was determined to be meant for another school sharing our name in a different state. That school has been notified and they have already taken action to ensure the safety of their students, which we have been informed does not involve any student being in possession of a weapon.

Plymouth Community School Corporation appreciates your trust, patience, and understanding during this situation today. We understand that matters such as this cause concern and worry. Plymouth schools will continue to keep the safety of our students and staff as our top priority. While we take great strides in this regard, it is the relationships that we strive to have and maintain as a community that will continue to keep our students safe. We thank the law enforcement agencies for their help on this matter, and we thank you for your continued support of Plymouth High School.
