Volunteers Surprise Miller’s Residents With Party

Miller's_Neverland Party Oct 17 2018 VolunteersCassandra Hardesty and her daughters, seven year old Calista and six year old Cadence wanted to do something fun during Plymouth School’s fall break so they decided to plan a party for the residents at Miller’s Assisted Living.  They chose as their theme a Neverland Fairy Party.

The Hardesty’s, volunteers and Activity Director Cindy Flagg began by making fairy wing invitations for the ladies and Peter Pan hat invitations for the men.  Every resident was invited to attend the party which was held in the Oak Hill Café.

The Dietary Department helped with the menu consisting of:  Fairy Wing Sandwiches, Fairy Pillows, Neverland Mixed Fruit Salad, Sugar Cookies with Fairy Sprinkles and Neverland Pirate Punch.

Volunteers served the food.  Flagg presented some interesting fairy facts and also explained the history of the play, book and movie “Peter Pan”.  She encouraged everyone to listen very carefully as they would be able to win prizes later as she asked them questions on what they’d learned.

Cadence Hardesty presented a self-choreographed dance to a modern day Peter Pan song, “Lost Boy” recorded by Reese Oliveira.  Following her dance there was a game of fairy trivia with prizes awarded to those answering correctly.
