SJHS_Logo_Plymouth(2C)Wound Healing Center at Saint Joseph Health System Plymouth Medical Center was awarded the President’s Circle Award and Center of Distinction. The award was presented by Healogics, Inc., the nation’s leading supplier of advanced wound healing services for clinical and operational excellence. The award was based on achieving outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days. There are 635 centers eligible for this award, and only 16 achieve this honor. Only two centers in Indiana achieved this recognition.

It is estimated that 6.7 million people in the U.S. are affected by chronic wounds fueled by the increasing rate of diabetes, obesity and the late effects of radiation therapy. The Wound Healing Center offers wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

To celebrate this achievement, the Center will host an open house for the community and staff on Thursday, April 26 from 11 am – 3 pm. For more information about Saint Joseph Wound Healing Center and its services, speak with your physician or visit sjmed.com.
